Jo

Head of Floristry and Chaos

I have worked in all aspect of the industry from leaving school. I’ve played every role from junior florist to shop manager, I’ve worked for a Dutch wholesaler, a plant nursery and even had nearly 15 years teaching floristry at Doncaster College. I am fully qualified to level 5 (degree level) and am constantly looking to learn new styles, skills and techniques and grow the shop!

I’ve designed flowers for York Minster, Castle Howard and for TV. Weddings are my favourite and we’ve been a part of to many to count! We love them!  Inspired by European and Dutch Master florists, my dream was to have my own gorgeous flower shop, which has now come true!

Leah

Florist and 'Princess Leih'

I guess you could say my journey into floristry has been a Covid success story; lockdown gave me the time to reflect. I asked myself, what am I passionate about? I closed the door on my 13 year career in fashion and went back to college to study floristry!  I’ve recently obtained a distinction in my City and Guilds Level 2 Technical Certificate in Floristry!

It’s been the best decision of my life. I pinch myself every day.  I get to be creative, spread the love and joy of flowers, share my passion and knowledge of house plants. I’m so excited for my career in the floristry industry and what it will bring.

Steve

Driver and Head of Karaoke

I’m the delivery driver for The Rainflorist and knew very little about flowers before starting here! I’m quite new to the team and am told by the ladies here that I make a great cup of tea!

I’m constantly singing and keeping everyone’s spirits up during peak periods and because I have to pick.. the Lily is my current favourite flower, this does change quite frequently though!

I’m the only delivery driver for The Rainflorist (other than at peak periods) so I’ll be the one delivering the wonderful designs made here in Wetherby!

Jessica

Marketing and Technical Whizz

I’m in charge of all things online at The Rainflorist as well as all wedding admin and organisation! With the amount of weddings we do, it’s a big job, trust me!

Working in such a great team is the best bit about this job, there isn’t a day that goes by where we aren’t smiling and laughing!

My favourite flowers are pretty much any scented!

Kelly

Trainiee Florist and The Smiler

I’ve been a mum for the last 20 years(!!!) and have now decided to study floristry, Level 2 at Askham Bryan College! I’m already learning a lot and am looking forward to learning more from these wonderful ladies at The Rainflorist!

My number one favourite flower is the ranunculus. Coming in a close second are the more tropical style flowers, especially the Protea.

Can’t wait to get started and for my career to blossom!

Rachael

Trainiee Florist and Head Chatterbox

I have organised advertising and editorial stories for The Rainflorist for the past two years in Yorkshire Living Magazine, so have become very familiar with the business and have always adored their beautiful floral creations and gorgeous shop!

When an opportunity came up to be part of the team, I jumped on it!

I’m loving getting creative, designing beautiful bouquets, working with plants and flowers and learning lots of new skills and all things floristry.
I’m also proud to be looking after our lovely plant room here at the shop, ensuring our huge range of house plants keep healthy, happy & luscious.
